ABOUT MZ OFFICER

First and foremost, I'm a Christian and I believe everyone deserves a second chance. God has given me many.  I grew up in Houston’s 5th Ward, graduated from Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions and attended Saint Leo University where I obtained a BA in Criminal Justice. I have dedicated over 30 years of my life to serving my country, community and the "Great" State of Texas as a United States Army Soldier and Texas Peace Officer.

Desiring a complete and well-rounded working knowledge of Houston's and surrounding areas Criminal Justice Systems, I worked as a Records Clerk in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Central Records, as a city and rural police officer, a college and school district police officer and as a deputy constable. I also worked as a Gang Task Force, RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) and Truancy Officer.  I'm currently a licensed Texas Private Investigator and practice alongside my brother, Reginald. 

While serving as a soldier in the United States Army, I was assigned to Combat Communications South Korea during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. For this assignment, I was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

I have a love for justice, a passion for seeing people “WIN” and a heart for the human condition.  I have a multifaceted view of the Texas Justice System. I have not only served in it, but I also have a great-grandfather who was the 178th person to be executed in Texas’s electric chair, a brother who was sentenced to 32 years in prison as a first-time offender and my youngest brother was murdered in Houston and his case is now a cold case. I could be angry (and I was), but I no longer am. I now understand when God chooses you to be a part of His plan, Hs plan will go forth.

I dream of the day that the community and community, the Texas Justice System and Texas Justice System, and the community and Texas Justice System can respectfully, honestly and effortlessly work together, hand-in-hand. Until then, I will continue to be the change I dream to see.
